Mongolian Ministry of Education Selects American University of Mongolia to Provide English Language Training for Students in New German-Mongolian Institute of Resources and Technology
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia–October 23, 2013 –The Mongolian Ministry of Education and Science has selected American University of Mongolia to deliver English language training to students in the new German-Mongolian Institute of Resources and Technology. The English language classes are part of the one-year preparatory program for GMIT’s engineering school in Nalaikh. As one of its newest partners, AUM staff members attended the GMIT launch held on September 26, 2013 at the Tuushin Best Western conference facility.
U.S. Embassy Awards Grant to American University of Mongolia’s English Language Institute to Train Government Translators
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia–October 23, 2013 – Related to the new Transparency Agreement signed by the U.S. and Mongolian governments, the U.S. Embassy in Mongolia awarded American University of Mongolia’s English Language Institute a grant to design and implement a training course in Legal English skills for translators of Mongolian trade and commercial laws and regulations. ELI teachers will work closely with American law firms in Mongolia to design a targeted and individualized intensive training plan. The program will both improve the learners’ skills in English for legal purposes and also provide them with support as they hone their skills in legal document translation.
Fulbright Program Approves Senior Specialist For American University of Mongolia
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia–June 28, 2013 – The American University of Mongolia (AUM) is pleased to announce that its project proposal and request to the Fulbright Program for a Senior Specialist was approved for funding. Dr. Mark Usher, Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Classics at the University of Vermont (UVM), was selected as the Fulbright Senior Specialist to come to Mongolia this summer and design AUM’s Freshman Seminar. The project will have a crucial role to play in the successful launch of the AUM, as the curriculum he designs will set the tone for AUM’s liberal arts educational approach and for the quality of its offerings.
University of Alaska Fairbanks to Design AUM’s School of Engineering
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia–May 16, 2013 – The American University of Mongolia HAS announced the signing of an agreement with the University of Alaska Fairbanks that will create the design of AUM’s School of Engineering. Under the terms of the agreement, UAF proposes to deliver a comprehensive overview of the accreditation requirements, curriculum, faculty and staff, laboratories and space required for the school.
IU's Kelley School of Business partnering with the American University of Mongolia to offer MBA
Feb. 4, 2013 BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Indiana University's Kelley School of Business has entered into a partnership with the newly formed American University of Mongolia to offer an MBA for global executives beginning in September. A recently signed memorandum of understanding between the two institutions builds on long-running ties between IU and Mongolia.
