Sustaining donors have shown significant support for the development of the American University of Mongolia through an initial donation of USD$50,000. AUM wishes to express its sincere appreciation to these donors, who have shown their commitment to the improvement of higher education opportunities for the country of Mongolia and its citizens.

Firebird manages ten funds dedicated to equity investment in emerging markets, with an emphasis on the former Soviet Union, emerging Eastern Europe, and exotic sectors worldwide. Firebird Mongolia Fund is a closed-end, limited life fund dedicated to local Mongolian equity securities.
Wagner International LLC, our sustaining donor, owns the following companies, which are all registered and operate in Mongolia: Wagner Asia Equipment LLC, Wagner Asia Automotive LLC, Wagner Asia Leasing LLC, Shandong Equipment LLC, and SITECH Mongolia LLC.

Pro Bono Donors

As the first global law firm to establish a permanent presence in Ulaanbaatar, Hogan Lovells understood the potential of the Mongolian market very early on and made a commitment to provide legal services adhering to the highest international standards of quality for their clients in Mongolia and around the world.
As part of their continuing tradition of providing assistance in the communities in which they practice, Hogan Lovells is providing legal assistance to American University of Mongolia on a pro bono basis during its early development phase.

Cross Border Markets LLC finances small and medium enterprises and their lenders in emerging markets and has in-depth experience with OPIC, other US Government-backed financial organizations, CBM is currently assisting the American University of Mongolia with its pending application for an OPIC loan on a pro-bono basis.

Breakthrough PR specializes in corporate public relations and development communications. They provide creative PR and marketing communications that tie advertising with positive publicity, brand recognition, and reputation management to create a unique image associated with, for instance, responsibility, quality, credibility, integrity and innovation. Breakthrough PR has been offering its services to AUM on a pro bono basis for the past year and continues to provide valuable assistance.
In-kind Donors

The Asia Foundation is a nonprofit, nongovernmental organization committed to the development of a peaceful, prosperous, just, and open Asia-Pacific region. Mongolia-based staff work on issues such as responsible mining and environmental stewardship; corruption and legal reform; community-based mediation; trafficking in persons; and increasing educational opportunities. Through its Books for Asia program The Asia Foundation is providing the American University of Mongolia with books for its library collection.

Nomadic Expeditions, the premier tour operator in Mongolia, is committed to conservation efforts in Mongolia and their other travel destinations, through environmental programs, educational initiatives and the support of local nonprofits. Many of these efforts are centered at their Three Camel Lodge in the Gobi, including a successful tree-planting initiative and programs to reduce waste and encourage environmentally friendly practices by local farmers. Nomadic Expeditions also works with local Gobi communities to discourage the use of plastic bags, and operates in environmentally sustainable ways in their travels throughout the country.
